We are Cristina & Petrica Tanase, two wedding photographers who are absolutely obsessed with capturing real moments. We like to think of ourselves as moment junkies—addicted to genuine smiles, joyful tears, and all the beautiful chaos that makes a wedding day such a magical ride. For us, wedding photography isn't just a job; it's our passion, our playground, and we wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. We've been on this incredible journey for 14 years, constantly surrounded by love, laughter, and happiness. Cristina Tanase
the always smiling one
Cristina brings a warm, feminine touch to our team, always ready with a smile. With a strong academic background in journalism and philosophy, she began her photography journey in 1999 as a studio photographer, where she quickly discovered her love for capturing real emotions and authentic moments. Cristina is not only an accomplished photographer, recognized as one of the TOP 50 in 2021 and among the TOP 100 INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHERS by the Wedding Photojournalist Association in 2018, 2019, and 2022, but she is also an associate professor. She shares her passion and expertise in photojournalism with students at the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Science in Bucharest. In 2022, her storytelling prowess earned the team a spot among the TOP 20 Storytellers in the World, as recognized by This is Reportage.

Petrica brings the experience and wisdom to our team, though he might not always wear a smile as readily as Cristina does :). With a solid background in photojournalism, Petrica spent about 14 years capturing stories for Mediafax Foto Agency, Adevarul, Ziarul Financiar, Saptamana Financiara, Forbes, and Esquire. His story with Cristina began 24 years ago when they were colleagues—until, in a rather memorable moment, he literally fell out of a tree onto her (yes, that really happened!). They've been inseparable ever since. Petrica's talent has been recognized globally, with nominations as a TOP 100 INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER in 2019 and 2021, and as a TOP 50 photographer in 2022 by the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA). In 2022, This is Reportage also honored their team by naming them among the TOP 20 Storytellers in the World.
